Proearn offers one on one guidance based on personal experience and research data for anyone with skills looking to start a home business. Frustrated with a measly salary working as a secretary, at 32, I decided to quit my job and start a home business.

 

Armed with a secretarial diploma and skills ranging from secretarial duties to sales and marketing, I formed a service company along with my husband, for the sales and servicing of various office equipment and accessories. Over the years, the business evolved into electronic gate openers and access systems.

 

I should note that while I had been employed, I had been tending to clients after work as a designer/dressmaker. So along with operating the service company, I had been keeping up with my fashion clients.

 

I remembered telling my boss that I could no longer work a full day and he suggested that I worked half day instead. I did that for a while then when things got too hectic; trying to keep my two seamstresses occupied with work while I went to the office; I stopped completely.

 

As more and more companies started to import uniforms for their workers, the sewing business started to dwindle. So I found a new venture, guiding persons in the business of selling phone credits. For this purpose, the Proearn website was created in 2009.

 

People from all walks of life have made this their side hustle. From university students and the unemployed to full-time employed persons seeking to supplement their income. Persons conduct their business while earning retail profit, and commissions through points accumulated from monthly sales.  

 

Besides teaching individuals how to turn their skills into a business, and selling phone credit, the website also provides great ideas and information for beginners.

 

You see I love helping people and I was very pleased when I asked one young lady how she got my number and she said “she found me on Google in a list as being a guide for young people”.
